Conservative Technique Using Oral Dressing Material for Wound Dehiscence after Ridge Augmentation: A Technical Report with a Case Series

Wound dehiscence is the most frequent complication after ridge augmentation and causes postoperative infection, inadequate bone healing, or graft failure. In oral cavity, conservative treatment for difficult to maintain until secondary healing occurs because of its normal flora, dynamic masticatory muscle movement, humid environment. This paper reports an effective method using wound dressing material with omnivec splint presents three cases: (1) autogenous tooth a collagen membrane, occurring at 5 days. (2) Autogenous covering titanium mesh, weeks. The mesh was removed 10 weeks histologic analysis. (3) 1 week. exposed maintained 6 months graft. All cases achieved acceptable outcomes dental implant by without infection augmentation.
